Frequently Asked Questions

How much does the service cost?

CHS will provide a quote for work following an initial assessment of the property for Free and there is no obligation to have the work carried out.

It is difficult to give an accurate price for work until the property has been assessed for hazards, size, waste etc. All the information and prices are listed in the order. The job has a fixed price and the quote for work is completely free with no obligation to continue with any work.

How long will the job take to complete?

The minimum and maximum time for the work to be completed can be found on the quote.

How soon can the job be started?

We aim to commence work in the property as soon the quote for work has been agreed upon. Under certain circumstances work can be started on the same day as the enquiry.

Access to the property is normally required between 9am and 6pm however an out of hours emergency service is always available.

Is it Safe?

All work carried out within the order is rendered safe and hygienic.

What is a bio-Recovery service?

A bio-recovery service removes the contaminated risk of a range of biological hazards from a property. E.g. blood, body fluids, animals excrement or other hazards associated with the build-up and decomposition of household waste.

Why do people need bio-recovery?

Physical and mental illness, death or deliberate and criminal damage can lead to situations that require specialist cleaning services.

Can residents/employees remain in the property while work is carried out?

Under certain circumstances it may be possible to remain in the property while the work is carried out. This can be discussed with CHS employees after an initial assessment of the property has been carried out.

What happens to contaminated items and any rubbish found in the property?

Any contaminated items are first made safe and then disposed of in the correct fashion. CHS can take care of the waste removal or it can be left in the property.

What about personal belongings and valuables?

Every effort is made to recover and retain items of personal or sentimental value. All items are left in the property unless they have been irreparably damaged by contamination or where the cleaning method to remove any hazard damages the items beyond repair. (E.g. electrical equipment such as a television with internal contamination, some carpets & furnishings.)

What needs to be made available in the property before work can begin?

Work requires a hot water supply, if hot water is not available please inform your cleaner before you return your order. Work also requires a 240V single phase electricity supply and foul waste outlet (lavatory). All CHS machines are fitted with RCD units.

Does the work come with a guarantee?

All work is carried out to the specifications in the order. CHS have over 25 years experience in providing peace of mind and all work is documented to British and International standard ISO 9001, 2000.
